Free Pay Stub Generator (US Format)

A pay stub is the itemised payment record every US employee expects with each paycheck. This generator formats it the way HR and payroll teams recognise: gross pay at the top, itemised federal, state, FICA, insurance and retirement deductions, and net pay clearly at the bottom.

About the Pay Stub Generator

US pay stub anatomy

A standard US pay stub shows pay-period dates, employer details, employee details, gross earnings, an itemised deduction list (federal income tax, state income tax, Social Security, Medicare, health insurance, 401(k)), and the resulting net pay. Year-to-date totals are often included but optional for a single-period stub.

Employer vs employee deductions

Employee deductions come out of gross pay and reduce take-home. Employer contributions (matching 401(k), employer share of FICA) are additional costs to the employer and do not appear on the employee stub. Keep the two clearly separated.

When you need a stub, fast

Mortgage applications, rental screening and immigration filings frequently require the last one to three pay stubs. This generator is a fast way to produce a clean stub when your payroll provider's export is slow or the format is unclear.
